Cannabis and parenting — responsible use without the stigma

This might be a touchy subject but I think it's important to talk about. I'm a mom of two (8 and 11) and I use cannabis regularly — mostly edibles in the evening after the kids are in bed.

The stigma is real. I've had other parents give me looks when I mention it casually. Meanwhile they're on their second bottle of wine at the school fundraiser. The double standard is exhausting.

My rules for myself:

• Never consume when I'm the sole responsible adult for the kids
• Products stored in a locked box, out of reach
• Age-appropriate conversations with the kids about it ("it's an adult medicine/relaxation thing")
• Never drive after consuming, period

I'd love to hear from other parents who use cannabis. How do you handle it? Have you talked to your kids about it? Any tips for dealing with the judgment from other parents?
